Rosie's Girls 2016

In 2016, Rosie’s Girls® campers focused on a team-based problem-solving project each week. Campers built “Rube Goldberg Machines,” employing basic principles of engineering, carpentry, and project planning with creativity and ingenuity. They collaborated in small groups to build sections of the machine, solving incremental projects and developing team skills along the way. As we tested this new approach, campers experimented with a variety of power tools, learned to “measure twice and cut once,” and practiced being allies to other campers. In the summer of 2016, Rosie’s Girls® was held at sites in Essex and Barre.
