Vermont Works for Women

Women’s Clinics

Continuing programming started by Girls Move Mountains, VWW will be offering clinics for women, ages 16 and up, in mountain biking and backcountry skiing. Build skills and increase your confidence in a supportive environment. Dates for the next clinics have not yet been scheduled, but will be posted here when available.

MOUNTAIN BIKE CLINICS

Get into mountain biking or dial in your current skills. These clinics are geared toward beginner/ intermediate riders and provide a structured, step-by-step progression toward building the skills necessary to have fun and find success on a mountain bike – all in a positive and supportive environment. Clinics cover the basics of gearing, shifting, braking, body position, cornering, bike handling, riding obstacles, trail riding, and bike repair/maintenance. We provide quality instruction by female instructors experienced in coaching, mountain biking, and Wilderness First Aid.

BACK COUNTRY SKI CLINIC

This two-day program offers women a non-intimidating and fun introduction to backcountry skiing. With expert instruction, you’ll learn the basics of backcountry skiing techniques and the ins and outs of winter backcountry travel. With a low instructor to participant ratio (1:5 maximum) you’ll get plenty of individualized attention. Plus, all proceeds from this clinic benefit Vermont Works for Women’s programs: support girls’ empowerment while having a great experience for yourself!

This program is designed for beginner to intermediate skiers who want to take their skills to the next level, and into the backcountry. Some experience on skis is necessary (but backcountry experience is not).
