Communications and Development Intern

For Vermont Works for Women

Vermont Works for Women seeks a Communications and Development Intern. The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Social Media Management: collaborate with Communications and Marketing manager to create content, post to channels and track analytics for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin),
  • Website Improvements: update content and visuals on website to increase accessibility of programs and services. Support with the planning of a future redesign of the website.
  • Fundraising Research: including, but not limited to, researching corporate donors (both current and prospects) to determine giving schedules, capacity, interest areas, affinity to VWW, etc.


This internship can be done remotely. Ideally this would be someone who could commit 5-10 hours/week for either the fall semester or the 2021-2022 academic year. VWW is flexible with scheduling and helping you receive academic credit as needed. VWW staff will provide training and mentorship. This is an unpaid internship.

High school or GED degree required. Currently enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate degree program; degrees in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Journalism, and Business preferred.
Remote Internship. Option to work in Vermont Works for Women's offices based in Winooski, Vt.
5-10 hours a week for Fall Semester of 2021 or 2021-2022 Academic Year.
