The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity’s (CVOEO) Mobile Home Program (MHP) seeks an experienced, energetic, and committed individual with a high degree of initiative to join our team as the Housing Rights and Responsibilities Educator. The Housing Rights and Responsibilities Educator will educate mobile home residents and tenants regarding their rights and responsibilities under fair housing regulations, Vermont mobile home law and landlord/tenant law and provide outreach services; be responsible for teaching basic rights and responsibilities in workshop settings and articulate to residents’ leaseholder and tenants’ remedies for health and safety violations; and maintain accurate and detailed records of activities for grant reporting. The Educator will support the mission of MHP, Vermont Tenants (VTT) and CVOEO in furtherance of justice and empowerment of low income people and those persons in protected classes.

Successful applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent skills and abilities; relevant experience in housing counseling; low income advocacy; code enforcement and education - experience in community organizing and cooperative development is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills - bilingual abilities a plus.
