Working as a member of the administrative team, the Outreach Assistant will provide program support including: outreach, client eligibility and verification, maintaining confidential files, database entry and reporting, job pre-closings, and a variety of administrative duties.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Provide professional and courteous front-desk and phone reception
Provide general program eligibility information to potential clients by phone and in person.
Respond to application requests
Ensure mail goes out and is picked up daily
Maintain and qualify applicant files Manage the flow of outreach and program verification of low-income Vermonter’s to ensure steady and sufficient flow of verified weatherization files for the Energy Efficient Coach. This includes appropriately distributing program information, coordinating targeted bulk mailings, encouraging referrals from as well as networking with other agencies.
Maintain responsibility for adequate file counts to keep jobs moving through the weatherization process, thus requiring careful time management between outreach and eligibility verification tasks.
Assist in the project pre-close process, ensure that files are completely organized with all proper documentation, and move them forward to close as efficiently as possible to meet monthly reporting deadlines.

Associate’s degree in appropriate discipline and a minimum of two years relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have

Demonstrated experience with outreach and community engagement efforts.
Ability to communicate effectively and work with a variety of individuals, including staff and clients, providing excellent customer service.
Fast and accurate data entry skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills to maintain data flow, electronic files, and paper files, with jobbased systems and multiple funding sources.
Proficient in word processing, database, spreadsheet applications as well as electronic file and record management.
Computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint), and the internet.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required; bilingual abilities are a plus.
Must be skilled in following precise instructions and meeting deadlines, and must possess abilities to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Positive team attitude.
Understanding of building construction and materials and the principles of energy efficient retrofits/ weatherization.
Must be energetic, positive, professional, diplomatic, motivated, and have a “can-do, extra-mile” attitude.
A commitment to social justice and to working with families with limited financial resources is necessary.
Valid driver’s license (insurable by CVOEO’s carrier) and reliable transportation required.
Desire to help reduce energy burdens for low-income Vermonters.
Ability to uphold safety standards.
