Do you want to change some lives? Are you energized by the enthusiasm of middle and high school students? Then apply for a position with VSAC as an Outreach Counselor in our GEAR UP program. This position will work with students in grades seven through twelve at three schools in the NEK: North Country Union High, Troy Elementary, and the Canaan Schools. This is a full-time position, 45 weeks per year with an immediate start date.
This Outreach Counselor position will provide career and college readiness services to middle and high school students. Ideal candidate is adept at building relationships and making connections, works well independently, and is flexible and eager to learn. The successful candidate will create a curriculum plan to cover the full spectrum of career and college planning services, meet with students regularly in groups, one-on-one, and in classes as well as offer workshops and presentations to students, parents and professionals, and develop rapport with students, school staff and faculty, and regional agency and college personnel. These services will be provided both virtually and in person.
