Strength in Partnership

We are more powerful and effective when we work together. Partnerships bolster ingenuity, leverage strengths and resources, and address gaps in services that we cannot alone provide. We are committed to partnering with a purpose, and seek collaborators to help us expand our impact, enrich our understanding, and improve our communities.

Community Partners

Career and Technical Centers: VWW partners with career and technical centers and schools to provide career exploration and gender equity programs to students and staff. Some of our recent partners include: Vermont Technical College, Burlington Technical Center, Green Mountain Technology and Career Center, and Randolph Technical Career Center.

Services for Justice-Involved Women: VWW partners with the State of Vermont Department of Corrections to provide work-readiness services to women in Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. Our staff work with justice-involved women to develop employability and executive functioning skills to support their successful re-entry into the community.

Serve, Learn & Earn: Serve, Learn & Earn is a collaboration between Vermont Works for Women, Audubon Vermont, ReSOURCE, and Vermont Youth Conservation Corps. Through training programs and paid service opportunities, our organizations are working towards a shared vision: every young person should have a viable pathway to employment and affordable education in exchange for serving their state.

Rosie's Girls Partner Network: Throughout the year we partner with schools and community organizations to run Rosie’s Girls summer camp and afterschool programs. The traditional model of Rosie’s Girls is hosted in a space suitable for welding or woodworking, however, there are many flexible curricula options to meet partners’ needs. Each version of the curriculum pairs hands-on exploration of non-traditional activities such as natural resources, engineering & design, renewable energy and other STEAM topics with our signature “Power Skills” social and emotional lessons.

Advocacy Organizations: VWW joins partners across the state in advocating for policies and programs that eliminate gender barriers to employment and create equitable economic opportunities and outcomes for all. We work with organizations such as the Vermont Network, Let’s Grow Kids, and Vermont Afterschool to foster a more equitable Vermont.

Gender equity PARTNERS

We partner with employers to increase gender equity within the workplace. Our staff works with employers and staff members to offer workshops, consultations, focus groups, and other services to assess the workplace climate then advise or make recommendations for improvements. Additionally, all employers who host participants from our Trailblazers trades training program partner with us for gender equity training.

Change the Story: VWW was a founding partner of Change the Story (CTS). CTS was a multi-year initiative aligning philanthropy, policy, and programs to fast-track women’s economic progress in Vermont.
